Research: Heat transfer; fluid mechanics; multiphase flow

Professor Yuen's current research is concentrated on two problems in heat transfer. The first problem is on convective heat transfer in a narrow channel with or without phase change. The application is to ultra thin heat exchanger which is relevant to thermal control of intense thermal sources including integrated circuit elements as well as other energy generating equipment. The second problem is convective heat transfer in porous media which is applicable to environmental problems and problems in energy conservation
