Research: Combustion; combustion synthesis of advanced materials; nonlinear dynamics and pattern formation; analytical and computational methods

Professor Matkowsky's interests are in asymptotic and perturbation methods, bifurcation and stability, nonlinear dynamics and pattern formation, combustion (premixed, filtration and fingering, gasless), combustion synthesis of materials and stochastic dynamical systems.
