Installing Print Drivers for Konica Copier

1. The Konica copier needs for your computer to have “Print Services for Unix” installed.

To install “Print Services for Unix” do the following.

  • Click Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove programs.

  • Now Click the Add/Remove Windows Componets icon on the left side.

  • To complete this next step you may need your Windows Installation Disk.
  • Click the check mark next to “Other Network File and Print Services”
  • Click Next to complete the install of “Other Network File and Print Services”.

2. Installing the Konica print driver.

  • Get the Konica copier print driver here .
  • Extract the files by clicking on the self extracting file.
  • Select a location for extraction and remember that location.
  • Click>Start>Printers and Faxes

  • Click on the “Add a printer” icon towards the top on the left. The Add a printer wizard will appear.

  • Click Next

  • Select the Local Printer radio button and uncheck the Automatic detect function.
  • Click next.

  • Click the Create a new port radio button.
  • Click the down arrow next to the selection box and select LPR.

  • Click Next.

  • Enter the data in the Add LPR compatible printer box as shown above.
  • Click OK

  • Click the “Have Disk” button.

  • Click the Browse button and go to the location where you extracted the driver files.

  • Find the Printer.inf file and Click Open.

  • Click OK.

  • Select the Konica IP-511 PCL printer then Click Next.
  • The driver should install.

  • Name the printer and select yes or no if you would like the copier as your default printer.

  • Click Next.

  • Select the Yes radio button if you wish to print a test page.

  • Click Finish to complete the installation.
