Catalog description

Thermochemical equilibrium, adiabatic flame temperatures, equation of motion for reacting gas mixtures, deflagration, Chapman-Jouguet points, and laminar flame theories.

Who takes it

Advanced graduate students, interested in combustion research, and development should take this course.

What it's about

This course is an advanced study of combustion process. The first quarter of the course deals with internal physics of flame process. The second quarter deals with flames and burning in greater detail, including chemical aspects. Third quarter deals with detonation theories.
