Finger exoskeleton

Alex Birdwell and Aaron Ferber built a finger exoskeleton

 

A small geared motor actuates the joint via a 4-bar linkage

Bend sensors monitor the wearer's fingertip to determine when joint motion is desired

The joint angle is monitored by an analog hall sensor; the proximity of a small magnet changes as the joint moves
